Pre-baiting canals was created by Gavfish
Got my eye on having a big carp out the canal this year as it aluded me for years. Know pre-baiting is definatly worth it but was wondering on the best bait to use to do this and how much and how often to put in? Any ideas are more than welcome.

BUMP
Anyone got any ideas for me as wanting to get on the local canal soon. Vitalin, chick peas, corn, and pigeon conditioner with a few of my chosen boilies going in. Think this will be any good

Pre-bait spots weeks before with pigeon conditioner/hemp.. that way the smaller fish/carp will clean your spots for you. then 1 week before boilies only just to give the carp confidence on your baits..then come fishing day you will have spotless areas with nice feeding spots..

use the largest boilies you can get, hopefully the smaller fish will leave them alone.

Last time was oon there all i had was bream even though carp rolling on my baits during the hours of darkness. Only prebaited for a few days and was using small baits which could of been the reason. Prebaited with alot of different particles and only a kg or so of boilies which were 15mm.
Should i step up the size and the amount of boilies?

15mm on a Chod set up would be a good idea.. As that will help stop the bream/small fish problem due to them not picking up chod's that much..??

Come up in rigs section about chods on canal and its something i never tried on a canal yet. Could save on piling boilies in as well just putting in particles and fishing chod on the top.
