Cheap glugs was created by Gavfish
After reading something on glugs tonight its got me thinking about them. Quality bait companys glugs are proven and attract carp because of being made with quality ingredients.
Cheap glugs are made with low quality ingredients so arent as good by far. Well thats my theory but dont know if its right.
Now if good glugs help your boilie attract the carp then will the cheaper ones repel them? Could they be overpowering or not be high attract enough? There are flavours that put the carp off if mixed and could just be off putting to the carp.
Thoughts please.

Are there other types of oils you can get in there that would be good glugs?

I use groundnut oil from Asda, its cheap and carp love groundnuts (peanuts) and it tastes quite sweet. I have added chilli powder to it or whole chopped up chillies and I also have one with crushed up star aniese (aniseed). I have a pot of fishmeal boilies soaking in this chilli oil in my bait bucket at all times, but what I normally do is add a small spillage of oil to a bag of boilies and give them a good shake so all are covered before using them as freebies.

I might sound thick but would vanilla essence be any good for glug? Would baits take on its smell and would it be overpowering?

do you mean the little bottles of vanilla essence from the baking shelves ? If you do then it is blinking powerful stuff Ive used it before in small 5ml amounts to add to wizzed up vitalin and 1 egg to make paste and boilies. It wont work in a glug (well not an oil based one anyway) as the two will seperate although there is no reason why you couldnt put a whole pod or two into a 500ml bottle of ground nut oil and let the flavour leeach out.

Yeah i do pal. Thought it might be too strong but didnt know about it seperating with the oil of a glug. Might be adding it in very small amounts to my vitalin now though if im using a sweet boilie.

Yeah I reckon it would compliment something like a chocolate malt or tiger nut boilie a treat. The almond flavour is terrible btw it leaves a very chemical aftertaste as does the strawberry one. Ive used the vanilla one to flavour chick peas in the past but you have to be carefull not to overdo it.

If it can flavour chick peas could it do sweetcorn, hemp and other particles as well? Again in moderation. Could be added to spod mix as well i would think

why would you want to flavour sweetcorn? yeah it will flavour anything it touches but sweetcorn is already cooked so it would just be on the surface whereas with particals it can be added at the cooking stage which also might incidentally help with the smell so mrs Gav wont moan about the smell in the kitchen lol. I think it would work very well in a sloppy spod mix and I can just imagine the scented cloud hanging in the water.methinks I need to get experimenting :D
