There are so so many to choose from Been looking on-line and there are so so many bait companies let alone boilies. Can someone point me in the right direction please.

wowsers Stu thats a million dollar question Like you said there are loads of bait companies and loads of flavours and all of them are allegedly the best thing since sliced bread according to the manufacturers and sponsered anglers.

The best boilies to use are the ones that are currently working on the venue you are fishing.

I have a theory that in any given geographical area the fish will be getting caught on baits sold in the local shops so if your new to the lake then have a look what baits the local shops sell and get a packet to try.

Yep that is.
Stu its more what you have confidence in using yourself not what the top anglers and the bait companies tell you. Avoid cheap boilies off sites like ebay and spend a few ££££ on a kilo. As previously posted the best bet is to go to your local tackle shop and have a word with someone in there. Tell them the water you intend on fishing and they may know what bait is doing well on there at the moment. That could be a starting point for you.

Remeber also its not just boilies that will catch carp. ;)

Checkbook and pen......again!!!!

All alot cheaper than boilies to. ;) Remember to keep your options open and you want more than one type of bait when your fishing. ;)

Mainline maybe a very commercial bait but their boilies do catch so could be a good starting point getting a bag from their range. Should give you something to start with mate. ;)

Might be worth a few trips round your local lake and asking the anglers what they are using. The thing with a commercial bait like Mainline is it could go 2 ways. Either the carp in the lake are getting hammered on it so now asscoiate them with danger or they are seeing it as a natural food source because theres so much of it getting chucked in there. ;)

If you heading onto Drayton then just get a pack of shelf life to take with you. You should catch on whatever you choose. ;)
