Im going to be spending alot of time on the local canals this year and im looking for advice. I have fished them on and off for 6 years or so and know areas that hold Carp but i have always struggled. I have a 1 mile stretch that has 5 marinas. Although i cant fish in them i can get baits to the entrances and inbetween them the far bank is tree lined that over hangs into the water, theres reed beds, boats perminently moored on the near bank and theres a very wide stretch for boats to turn round. I am going to bait many different swims on a little and often approach from the end of the month into the spring but cant decide what would be better to bait with, a particle approach or a boilie approch or a bit of both. There are large amounts of silver fish on the stretch but these do help to draw the Carp into your swims.
Just want to know how you would go about a campaign on there going on the description that i have given.
All advice taken on board, thanks in advance.

i'd go for maize and rock hard air dryed boiles.the maize and boiles will slow the silvers down.but won't deter crayfish for long, even a few tigers, got to keep it going in at least twice a week, good luck i know how hard it will be

Cheers Dave. Heading for a day on the canal tomorrow but will be moving every few hours if no sign of the fish and staying mobile.
