As its #WBMQuestion this week on Twitter it has to be on the forum.
It could be a famous angler, your dad, your best mate, anyone really.
Mine is John Wilson, inspired me as a kid watching his Go Fishing series and still watch them now on Sky. Was amazed at how he managed to haul in so many different species of fish and wanted to be like him when i grew up. Watching his programme got me started on fishing.
Anyone else?

Some of you are going to take the pi55 but its anyone from the Korda team. My fishing completely changed for the better after watch 4 of the Underwater series. Made my results from very poor to average and they are still the best fishing DVD's i have ever seen. <!-- s:ugeek: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_ugeek.gif" alt=":ugeek:" title="Uber Geek" /><!-- s:ugeek: -->

Can see your point really Ben. When i watched the first one i hadnt been Carp fishing very long and it completely changed my view on Carping and the way i fished for them. Just seeing Tench feed with Carp opened my eyes. Back then i thought that the Carp push the Tench out when they moved in. How wrong i was.

My dad for getting me started, but gotta be Chris Yates and Bob James who took over once my dad packed it in. Passion for Angling IS and will always be the best and most awe inspiring fishing program that has ever been made in my eyes. Chris Yates and Bob James sadly fell out for reasons still unknown to me, but that program was gold and Chris Yates is my all time fishing hero! I've read a number of his books and they are written with such a passion and almost romantic feel to the fishing and countryside that you can't help but want to get out there fishing and what makes it better, it's not just for carp!

Nothing fires your imagination and inspiration for Carp angling than the redmire pool session of passion for angling. When they fish from the tree and cast by "blow-pipe" and then have to jump in to waist deep water to land the fish is just magic every time! Also Chris Yates' manaquin of a fisherman in the shallows to fool the carp is just brilliance!
