oh dear, Ive just watched the clip. He has a bubble float on a stiffer length of mono trapped between two knots. What happens if the mainline snaps above the knot and float section? There will be a baited hook left floating on the surface with a bubble float attached.

I use a similar method which I believe is more fish friendly, I shall attempt to describe how I tie it up.

firstly thread a small 1.5 or 2 oz square pear lead onto your mainline followed by a float rubber then get a clear plastic drennan puddle chucker float and thread that onto your mainline once through the bottom eye. Take the sight tip insert out of the float and push the top of the float into the rubber, tie the end of your mainline to a Korda link loop or something similar. You will now have a free running lead and an upside down clear float on your mainline, next you need to attach a 2ft length of drennan double strength line to the link loop and tie on a zig of choice.

The float acts as a boom when casting and ive only ever had it tangle a couple of times in the past three years, I use foam for my zigs. I have some pics but they are too big for me to get on here:oops:

Yeah a point i hadnt thought about. It doesnt need the 2nd swivel it can be done with one swivel and a bead to lock the area of line the float slides on.

Will have a search to find a better safer rig. Cheers Matt ;)

Video has changed from the orginal post after it was first pointed out it was an un-safe rig. Video now shows a clip of the Nash Rig Evolution DVD that was free in tackle shops last summer. :P
