Germans im going for. Very eventful first game of the Euros is on now.

I was thinking the Dutch might have it but they were very poor yesterday against Denmark. Got France in the sweepstake at work. <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt=":shock:" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: -->

I'm thinking germany will win. They have a good side.

I think there's such little expectation for England they might do ok and surprise us. Russia looked good although they had a load of fights after they won, would hate to think what they'd be like if they lost .

Polish gangs have been fighting the Police as well from what i hear.

England ok tonight, Milner should have scored early on but overall an ok performance and a point each was fair. Nice to see Oxlade-Chamberlain to get a start at a big tournament and get him some early experience at a young age. Predicted a 0-0 or 1-1 so im happy with the result as long as we dont fluff it in our next 2 games.
Only criticisum is that possibly our defence sat too deep?
Any views?

Think we sat too deep aswell like you say, but it's been the same with everytime really. No one wants to lose their first game so defending has been heavy and scrappy at times.

Chamberlain getting the start was good, milner should of put that one away though, or cut it across there was 1 maybe 2 who could of got to it. But either way with such low expectations we looked ok. I think Ukraine looked good tonight against Sweden. And I don't think Sweden will be a walk in the palk either. Wouldn't pick us as favourites for finishing top 2 at the moment.

Good result tonight but my god they had my bum squeeking most of the 2nd half. Welbeck had a very well taken goal and glad Carroll got one.
Inspired sub bringing Theo Walcott on?!?!? Hodson got my vote so far.
Only let downs were Johnson, Young and Cole had a few dodgy moments.

Its such a rollercoaster watching england for our generation lol, it's just painful at times.

Cole had a shit game, none of his passes were connecting, he wasn't getting back quick enough either. Welbecks goal was a stylish one and walcott did a great job. But we didn't make it easy on ourselves.

Poor quality last night but finished top of the group. What would you rather, poor quality and a win or great quality and a lose. I know what i prefer.

Ukraine goal had no doubt crossed the line so they were unfortunate but its a bit of luck in a tournament for change rather than bad luck.

Have to agree. I always like to see the england side play well so a bit of class and a loss would be good. But to be fair I'd take last nights game over the sweden one any day of the week. That one had too many ups and downs, was a real rollercoaster to watch because we never make it easy on ourselves.

Agreed and we go out to the Germans on penalties just to make it more painful.

We did what we needed to get through the group and topping it was awesome as i think we would struggle against Spain.

Whatever happens they have already exceeded my expectations this tournament so im happy.
