Usually change it every session or so but heard it should be done after every fish.
Any ideas or thoughts about this ;)

I just check the hooks sharpness on my fingernail after every fish. If its going blunt then i change it. It has already cost me a couple of carp this year from being an idiot and not changing my hook soon enough.
Danny Fairbrass thinks you should change hook after every fish but he does get his hook for free.
Have also found some korda hooks are blunt when you get them out of the packet but have never had this problem with ESP which is what i have used for last 2 years. If i got free tackle i proberly would change after each fish.
Other things blunt you hook as well which have to be took into consideration, for example if your fishing on grvel each cast the stones will blunt your hook slightly.
Its trial and error until you find whats best for you and the make of hook your using.

Hope this helps you pal. ;)

I check after every cast/drop or fish, just in case something has happened to the point, have also found blunt hooks straight out of the packet as well, but been using gardner covert range and so far had no problems...

weneva ur hook feels blunt check it all the time by running point over ur fingernail. if u got a blunt hook ur not gonna hook the carp and if u do then its likely it will drop off.
