Some of the carp being caught are full of spawn so cant be long before they start spawning. Will let the forum know when they start as soon as i do. ;)

Our family goes to a resort 3 hours from where we live. We spend a total of 4 weeks here because it is reasonable and beautiful, not to mention the fishing!! June-July-October are great months for fishing at this lake. The resort we stay at is like a "2nd Home" to us! Risingeagleresort.com is where we stay. I stay by myself in October after I get done with the fall coaching season at my school. It is a great place to relax. I've met some great folks from different states that stay in other cabins! I've learned some great tricks from them! The owners are the best! They become friends on the 1st stay!

Keep to talk about the realative topic in each section please pal. ;)

As you can see in my photos the water is extremely low. You can walk down 7 steps on the dam, theres bivvys everywhere infront of the boards all the way around. Water must be at least 10 foot down i would say. 2 lads i was talking to this morning says they hammers around 5kgs of particles last night and another 5kgs at 4am this morning and that kept them catching all night. Their advice is the pile the bait in and it will keep the carp feeding there. Also when water is upto the boards never ignore the margins in the last hour before darkness and all night.

Thats one thing about Drayton, if your a begineer its a great place to practise casting, spodding, catapulting your bait out etc. Its also good if you have had a few blanks at your chosen lake and want to get a few bends in the rod as its usually good for a bite or 2 especially with the water being so low.
