Heard nothing but good things about it and looking for a new venue this autumn. Able to travel at least once a month over the winter and looking for a chance of a decent 20. NE1 know anything about it or fished it

Latest here for you Ben...
Fish are coming out in all areas of the lake at present with the biggest recently 21lb. When it gets colder its best to head to the deeper end of the lake.
Fishery has a closed season from 1st December until mid febuary.

corking place run very well by the owners not loads of massive carp but great place for a few runs and not overpriced. deffo worth a trip in the warmer months but havent fished it in the winter. advice to u ben would be fish it in spring wen it warms up a bit and dont ignore the margins.

Cheers jonny. Wanting to spend a bit of time on there from the spring in my quest to land a 20. By your write up it sounds very very promising so will be getting on it.

I have fished hopsford since day dot! and there is some crackers in there.
best i had was a common just short of 30lb it was immaculate and that was probably getting on for 6 years ago now. There are plenty of 20lb fish in there and also i would say between 2 and 5 possible 30's (A well educated guess?) But because of the huge stock of fish I'm afraid you have to play the numbers game but the big uns will come. my tips would be :- margins are good but i found introducing bait into open water little and often produced fish with the better fish coming in on the bait later on in the session, be accurate in your fishing and hit the same spots and be patient cos they will come and some of them are quality fish.
Regards Dave.
p.s I'm not saying the tactics i have mentioned will guarantee you fish but it worked for me, but also i have seen lads use zigs to great success on there if that's your thing.
one more thing as with most places these days it gets very very busy at the weekends especially in the warmer months
