Having difficulty deciding on a new water this year to get me of Drayton. Been on there for 2 years and learned alot butnow want to move on. Im in need of suggestions for a fishery thats not more than an hours drive from Daventry. Holds a good head of 20s but has smaller carp in there for a few runs. Is managed well by the fishery owner, doesnt have alot of weed in there and isnt over fished if possible.
Will welcome the help WBM, thanks. ;)

Taking it from other posts Ben you are after day ticket?
If no threads on lakes on here take your fancy then might be worth a look at Meadowlands Fishery in Ryton just south of Coventry. Lambsdown lake the bigger of the 2 could be worth a bash. 13.5 acres plenty of room between pegs and only busy at weekends when there alot of matches on there. Tench to near double figures, some stillwater Barbel but only down side is a huge amount of Bream to around 7lbish. :(
Cant find anything upto date on the place, fisheries.co.uk is about 4 years out of date and the email on there isnt the baliffs.

Checkbook and pen......again!!!!

Yes mate after a day ticket with chance to do nights. Had a look on fisheries.co.uk and sfraid it looks more of a match venue than carp. Good fish in there but have to wade through the smaller ones like Drayton i think. Im looking for it to be carp orientated really. Hopefully no Bream after the topic in Baits section saying they will take just about anything but if the lake is right dont mind them too much.
Any other ideas please <!-- s:?: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_question.gif" alt=":?:" title="Question" /><!-- s:?: -->

You dont want to be starting on a new water at this time of year to be honest. Best bet is to start in the spring. There a thread on here about the place but could be worth trying Nell Bridge Farm in Ayhno, just south of Banbury. Average size of fish is about 15lb and go to 30lb. Mostly commons which i what keeps pulling me back there as have never had a 20lb common before. Some say its a runs water but me personally find it a hard water. Got a big head of 3lb Bream in there but as long as you dont put down a big bed of bait then you shouldnt attract them. No weed to deal with either. Closed until March but worth looking at pal, heres the site.

Nell Bridge is chokka blok with crayfish so you will need to choose a baiting strategy that fits.

Never had a problem with them except when i fished the car park swim furtherest to the left when your looking at the lake. It was the 5th or 6th time that i went and i didnt even know they were in there until then and was fishing the margins.
Been having a look through this site and have found Duston Resse. Could be a hard water though and cant comment on what its like cause never heard of it.:oops:

Could be a couple of other places you may want to find out more about on there as well. ;)

Cant seem to find anything on this Duston Resse, think its very hush hush. Been looking today and yesterday and even on other forums theres very little or its a good few years old. :(
Was using this site to find a new venue this winter then start on it in the spring when i have found one.
Any other ideas. Had a pm saying Stanwick, has anyone fished there? <!-- s:?: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_question.gif" alt=":?:" title="Question" /><!-- s:?: -->
