What a venue!!!!! Fished for the first time yesterday. Well kept fishery and baliff was very helpful. I was fishing over particles with the Cell pop-ups and seemed to do alright although it took a while for the carp to move over my bait. Had a chat with a couple of other anglers to. Between them and the baliff i was told that maybe the particle approach was the wrong one as the smaller carp are the first to move in on it on there and start hoovering the bait up although the bigger carp will eventually move in. Next time i go will be taking a few more boilies with me and want to thank Trev for the advice in the best braid for weed section.
Will be fishing here again.

Noticed at work today a leaflet for Stanwicks Lakes. Never realised it was an adventure land, nature walks, play areas, picnics areas, assult course etc. In the leaflet there is only a tiny mention for fishing which says "designated fishing lakes". Would of thought it would have at least half a page about the fishing as they could make alot of money on it.
Is it more an outdoor activite centre than a fishery?
Checkbook and pen......again!!!!

There's two stanwick lakes, next to each other. One is the one you mentioned above and the lakes can't be fished as far as i know, and then there is the other which is the fishery next door
. Alot of lakes right next to each other there.

Jam ma is right the leaflet you have at work is indeed for the adventure park bit which is about 300 yards up the A45 from the Fisheries. The entrance to the fisheries is actually at the end of a layby on the A45 and is easily driven past. The whole valley (Nene Vallay) that the A45 runs through has lakes either side of the main road for miles and miles, most are controlled fisheries etc. There is a cracking little tackle shop opened up in Rushden High Street and they will give you all the info you ever need for the area. Personally I would go to Stanwicks and fish Mallard Swan and Elsons lakes.
