I have spent quite alot of time fishing linear over the years fishing mostly Manor and a good few times oxlease. What i have found with oxlease is that you need to find the fish and i know most of the time this is very difficult because of the other anglers. From the island down the lake towards the entrance their is a graval bar at 40yrds and another at 80yrds out of the two this is the better one as it is not as easy for some of the anglers to cast and bait up to so most find the one at 40 yrds. I put one rod the far side of the bar just into the silt, one on the bar and the third the nearest side the bar but just before the gravel in the silt once again its where the natural food will be not on the gravel, the middle rod is placed on the gravel because carp use bars like we use roads. I have tried the spodding and wait tactic a couple of times and this doesnt really work as that is what everybody does EVERYDAY, 1 person starts spodding everyone starts quite amusing really. What i have found to work well is to fish pva bags with chopped and whole boilies and then to scatter a kilo of boilies over the three rods every other fish. This has worked on numerous occassions and most times have had a carp within a couple of hours of casting out and carried on catching through the session. Fishing this way down in oxford is different cause they all love gravel and spodding so give the silt a go and the pva bag tactic ago, this also works very well on the Manor as most people spod their and it takes the carp a few days to a week to get on it. As Manor isnt quite as busy as oxlease it is better to spend a couple of hours finding the carp first or moving onto them.

We fished up that end of the lake when we went and found a gravel bar which must have been the one at 40 yards. Scattered boilies over our spots so seems we were doing everything right except we went on the hottest day of the year

Good advice salty, i will take the silt method and use it next, i do already fish with bags alot down there so i think i will stick with that
Its not as busy down oxlease anymore due to the big fish loss because of the floods, there was 2000 fish at one point and after the floods there is about 700 .
Better for me as i dont like having loads of people on the lake
