Fished it a couple of times 5 or 6 years ago including once on Westminster. Never caught a carp bigger than 3lb but it was a very cold day in Feburary. The thing about the place that put me off was the Baliff seemed a bit of a fool to put it politely. Both times i went with a mate he was very rude to me and my friend and seemed just to want our money.

Just found this on starting a topic on another forum so have copied and pasted the first post. Worth a read and followed up by 2 others who seemed to have the same view as me.

Lemington Lakes, Westminster Lake.

Anyone else had any problems at this venue??

Its local to me and the venue itself is lovely!!! three of us used to fish it a lot and spend a fair few quid at the place to with bits and bobs from the tackle shop and a bite to eat from the cafe before settling down for a weekends fishing.

its just the people who run the place and there attitudes that we have all had enough off!!!!

from being told that my son was not aloud to fish from my peg, to being treated as you don't know what you are doing and having to answer the same questions every time that you go there is beginning to grind a bit!
one time i was in the process of casting out and as the rod was about to be punched out it was grabbed by on of the lake staff by the tip to check that my rig was safe!!! without any warning that this was going to happen!!!
By the way, you are asked on every occasion that i have been there to fish longer than a day session to bring your rods in for the rigs to be inspected before the night!!

On another occasion when my young son was with me, who out of my three children is the only one who has expressed a interest in fishing, the owner came marching onto my peg and accused me of allowing him to fish from my peg without there permission!!! And that they had been informed by one of the other anglers on the lake that he was using a small whip!!!!
when he was just sitting next to me watching!!!!

There was also the occasion when i visited the venue on a Sunday for a days fishing on my own, to be told that the lake was in fact in the process of being drained for the winter in case of ice!!!??

The most recent incident though was last weekend, and not wanting to travel to far, what with it being a bank holiday and most waters being very busy!! begrudgingly after not being able to think of any where else to go, we decided to go to Lemington lakes for the day on the bank holiday Monday and fish on Westminster lake.
We arrived before the shop opened to obtain our permits in case it was going to be busy!
The weather was looking good and there were a couple of other anglers arriving, there was a couple of bivvies down on the lake that i could see while i was dipping my net and cradle, as you have to do on this venue prior to fishing.
We stood waiting out side the shop having a chat, when the owner appeared to open up. which lake are you going to fish we were asked?, as always, we have been up there god knows haw many times!!?
Westminster i said. o that lake is closed they said!!?? But there are people down there fishing we said!!??
Yes i know, i am shutting the lake when they come off!!
That could be at anytime today though we asked, cant we fish the day, they may not come off until this evening!??
No!!, we were told.
There was no notice of this on the web site, or at the venue!!!
With Lemington not opening until 7:00am, we were then stuck wondering as to where to go!!??, as were a number of other guys!!

We have kept saying it!! But this time we will not return to this venue!!!

Checkbook and pen......again!!!!
