Big boilies will help keep them from taking your hookbait so much. Over 20mm and snowmans as hookpull said although i have had a tench on a 22mm boilie. <!-- s:o --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_surprised.gif" alt="

Try to keep all particles to a minimum or not as all especially sweetcorn and maize as Bream love them.
On the flip side though bream and roach sniffing through your baited spot attracts the carp in. Try putting a bait a couple of yards away from loosefeed. <!-- s:idea: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_idea.gif" alt="

Basically Ben there isnt one that they dont like. Even Tiger nuts are taken by them and ive been on Pike matches and seen bream captured fair and square with a small deadbait.
If im fishing a water where lots of Bream are present then I tend to use really big baits double 2omm boilies with a longer hair and a size 6 widegape hook but even that is not totally bream proof.
You just have to remember that Bream are fish too and even though they are not what we are after they do still eat bait and will need to be unhooked and put back with the same care as we give the Carp.
Keep your baits big and dont attract the bream with particles or lots of small freebies.

must admit thou ben, if the bream are there, them the carp wont be far away, and if it does snaffle a 20mm bait, then its going to be a fair size, as with tench, a double figure tench is a fish to be proud of.
my main water for this year has some very big bream, near 20's!!! and good low double tench, so not so much of a nuisance .
but if your being plagued with 3-5lbs bream, then big baits for sure, although if your starting now, then the odd bream might relive the boredom!!!!

Have you decided where you are fishing this year then?
Big Bream maybe snotbags but then if you get a double it could be classed as a fish of a lifetime. <!-- s:o --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_surprised.gif" alt="
" title="Surprised" /><!-- s:o --> Wouldnt mind one of them myself for my photo album.
Could be worth feeding particles at the start of the session to get the Bream in to attract the carp, esecially a big water with a low stock of carp. After a few hours just stick with the big baits and peanuts,(if cooked correctly), i heard that Bream wont/rarely will touch them.

Thanks for the feedback WBM.
Usually fish with 18mm boilies but if the lake i fish holds Bream will be upsizing a bit of snowmans all the way.
Seen on the Krda underwater DVD's that Tench will feed alongside carp but will Bream or are they hussled out the way <!-- s:?: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_question.gif" alt="

Think they will hoover as much as they can as the carp pick up baits from the edge of the baited spot. When the carp move in they get muscled out the way. Doesnt mean they will leave the baited spot completely though.

forget the meat boilie! should be something like a bloodworm boilie, sounds daft, but the place i get my bait from do a bloodworm boilie and those using it have seen numbers of bream and tench caught drop...where as the meat boilie has a good track record for tench and bream.
so i do apologise, got them around the wrong way....

After yesterdays fishing was told by Trev that he has never had a bream on carrot so seems that could be a bait to try.
