hello new to this how do you fish with icy lakes and in the winter

Try braking holes in the ice or look for a clear patch thats ice free as this is likely to be a place where the water is still moving from fish mivung arond so doesnt freeze.
Small PVA bags and chopped down pop ups work well in the colder months

Single baits of fluro pop-ups work well in cold clear water if you can find the fish. Any sign of a carp you see cast on its head. Wear loads of thick layers so you dont get cold.
