Would be sweet if he did. Heard alot of stories of how it used to be there and the decent sized dark coloured carp in there along with some decent sized tench. Alot of reeds covered the lake as well and the islands werent there.
Going for the day tomorrow so will see who it is that comes round for the money and dig for anymore i can find out about it. ;)

It march that its being took over. Prices will be the same for the time being. ;)
Talking to one angler today that i see down there alot in the winter says he and a mate had 12 between them on chod rigs on saturdays and 3 out yesterday on pegs in the early 50's. The middle of the lake seems to be producing casting at long distance as this is where the carp were showing and anyone who was catching was having them from.

Done a quick reccy on the way back from work today. 13 anglers fishing and out of them 11 hant caught 1 lad had 1 on peg 52 and a lad on peg 44 who had only been on that peg for an hour or so had 6 carp. He was on the boards but moved as he could see carp topping near the island. Had them all on chods but was using 3 rods. NE wind been blowing for last 5 or so days and hard frost last 2 nights seems to have put them off a bit.
Will try keep everyone updated as we come towards the social with how its fishing and whats catching. ;) Had a chance to had a few cards for the site out as well to try and spread the word about this site.

Also was chatting to one lad and he told me Brian (owner of the Blue Lias) never owned the lake but had the lease before British Waterways. He now has the lease again as the track to the lake is his land and he was leasing that to BW. As for work to the lake Brian wasnt planning any but has been asking a few regulars about wether they would be interested if he turned it back into a syndicate but he wouldnt be moving out or re-stocking any carp it would be left as it is.

so has british waterways already handed back the running of it to this bloke or? I was thinking of heading there and giving the carp rods a dusting off either friday or next week one day. Last time I went I caught more fish the further out I fished, still the same way?

Yep. From what was told carp seem to be mostly coming from long range or close to the islands but not close because of all the reed roots that are still there around them. Dont forget your chods and floro pop-ups, also seem to be scoring well. ;)

Just an update to tell all what i know so no advantages come Sunday. Carp are showing but all at distance or close to islands. Have seen a couple top in the margins today so they are on the move but not very interested in taking bait. Advice at the moment up there would be floro pops on the chod over a few bottom bait freebies or as a single bait. Otherwise fish a small bottom bait with a small PVA bag on as a single or with a few freebies around. Its still tough going up there but there are a few feeding carp to be caught. :P
