bishops bowl/mitre pool

going to do a 24 hr up mitre next week ,never fished it so wondered if i could pick your brains on the best approach . cheers lads

Gavs your best bet, i've fished it 6 or 7 times but always for pike. But from what I know / have seen its alot of margin work for the carp and it's best to talk to Shaun the baliff as he will always try and put you on the fish, he's a sound guy.

Pretty much on Mitre everytime i go fishing mate. Not had a 20 this year but have a few runs each time. Look through the Bishops Bowl thread for a few ideas and through the catch results to see how stunning the Bowls Carp are. Shawn the owner is a top bloke and will tell you anything you wanna know. Its deep with shelves and drop off everywhere but its also very weedy. Have 1 rod in the margins a rod length out ans have your rod tips back up the bank so the rod tips dont go over the water so the carp dont see. They will swim a metre or so from the bank on front of the pegs looking for bits that have fallen out of peoples spods. Chods and solid bags work well and a boilie only approach is your best bet to avoid the Tench and other species in there.

not been fishing for a while , went to jubilee pools on tues and had 2 out 18.1/2 and 17 so pleased with that on my first trip for a good while, i will post a picture when i can suss out how

I'm going to try mitre pool on monday for 2 day session, what are the best swims to go for?

My favourite swim this year is peg 13 but havent fished it in nearly 2 months now through lack of time and tiredness mainly. Best bet is to have a chat with Shawn first to see wheres fished well this weekend then spend a good half hour or so with the polarised glasses on and walk the lake to find the fish. Good luck mate there are some stunning fish in there.

i heard mitre has produced its first 30, definatley gonna fish here alot more now i know theres some bigguns in there.

It was only a matter of time til it did. Havent fished it for a while but taking my Pike gear with me as well next time i go.

Photo of the 30 in question is on the wall in the on-site shop, will be having a look at it next time i go down.

I'm there at the weekend for a couple of days , hopefully I'll have a couple out
