Have fished this venue twice with zero results.
Once for pike back in February (through the ice). Then again recently, for anything else, during the hot weather. Blanked both occasions.
Was wondering if anyone has had better luck, or am I just wasting my time?

Had a bit of a google search on the place and finding it hard to find anything out about the place except it it very deep and a very hard water. Being an old quarry it has steep drop offs and plateaus so plently of places for the carp to feed.
My best bit of advice having never seen the place let alone fished it would be to walk round the water with polarised and search for the carp. Also talk to anglers on the bank and have a word with the lads in Banks and Burr tackle shop in Rugby. If they know something about the place they will be able to tell you.

It's an old quarry with not many fish in. The main stock would have to be the tench unless somethings changed. I've fished a few times myself and only ever caught a tench, but know of people who have gone for the carp. I think theres maybe a handful of them in there, 5-6 at most. All good looking fish, not massive as they have lived on naturals mainly. My friend photographed a common of 19lb I believe. They are often over the far corner where the cliffs are ( where you can't get to them ) . As I said there used to be a good head of tench in there, some decent ones too. A friend from banks and burr did a good bit of fishing on there for them, filled it in with ground bait and feeder fished over the top and had a decent haul, I remember going down to visit him when he was fishing it.
As for the pike, i've seen one pike in there before which was only a jack and have no idea about what else may be in there. I have seen people pike fishing it in the winters but never seen anyone catch anything.
The advantage of this place used to be that you hardly ever got charged as no one came round, dunno if that's still the same.

Cheers for the info lads.
Spoke to the blokes in Banks & Burr. Was told it's got very few fish, and those that are there need a good bit of work to catch. Shame.
