Morning lads I'm gna do my first session of the year on sat at the riddings near tamworth I'm looking to see if anyone has ever had sucsess using cockles when fishing for carp. And what would you fish over the top of them . Also has anyone fished the specimen lake this year. Tight lines

Get on them mate, fresh from the packet from any supermarket. Also mussels of prawns will do the job. Massively under used and under-rated baits that will catch you carp when all else fails. Havent used them in the winter though only when the water temperature is higher so cant comment on wether they are any good now.
I used to fish 2 mussels on a hair rig fished over the top of a bed of hemp and it done alright for me. Havent used them for a few years and with this topic you have got me thinking..... <!-- s:idea: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_idea.gif" alt="
