I would yeah, in smaller amounts, but would keep a bit trickling in, plus side, I've found the longer its left in soak the better, in fact have heard upto a week+, and as winter is here bringing ice caps, getting a stock of prepared particle in the freezer, at least keeps the interest levels moving!!!
as for best prices, a local independent pet shop, or a quick local business search on line should give you a idea...
go one get out in the kitchen and rattle the pans!!!

If you can get a good quality hemp, then a few days soaking can be enough, the other thing is a cool box, fill with hemp and boiling water, leaving a gap obviously, weight the lid down and leave overnight, can be enough for a day/overnighter.... ;)

Good idea! The problem i had with hemp that i didnt think of until recently is how high quality the hemp i was cooking was. £16.99 for 25kgs Recently found out this is quite cheap so now question its quality. Think on-line will find better hemp to use and did at one time never leave home without any.
Pigeon conditioner, hemp, vitalin and a bit of maize could be the answer to my question i think.

i know this has turned into a hemp fetish!!! but you can have a spod/boat mix without it, the lower quality hemp just take longer to get ready, okay when you've got time, if you have some of yours left, give it a go in the cool box, and see if that does the trick, best to mess about now while the lakes are capped.... ;)

do you want a spod mix that you are going to fish a bottom bait over ? If so then get into one of those pets shops and buy a big sack of bird food or Vitalin, just make sure it is boiled for the optimum time for the largest grain in it (normally maize). If you want a spod mix that forms a cloud (for zigs)then get into netto or aldi and buy some cheap rolled oats and a box of ready brek mix it with a bottle of bannana milkshake and enough water to make it sloppy, you could also liquidise some frozen sweetcorn.

I quite understand about the peanuts, however they are perfectly useable if they are boiled for long enough, I did advise to boil for the optimum time for the largest particle. If peanuts were not safe then bait companies wouldnt sell them.

hang on, bait companys and pet shop bird mixes are totally different, bait company will sell you high grade nuts, hence the price, pet shop blend peanut are low grade, and they should not be in any type of mix used for fishing.
thats why i said about picking them out,
most waters i fish have a blanket ban on peanuts, which is a shame as they are a real winner, but if you can use them, then bait company one would be the best you can use.

Is that because the bait companys make sure they are safely cooked before selling?

Could Pigeon Conditioner be used to make a sloppy mix to use over zigs as well then? Will it form a cloud in the water with out overfeeding the carp as long as i keep spodding in every 10 minutes or so?

Checkbook and pen......again!!!!
