On an overnighter what do you do first?

What do you do first when fishing the night?
Rods out or bivvy up?
Had this question on Twitter the other day and got a few outside the box answers.

Depends what the weather is looking like... but all being well the rods go out first, followed closely by some bait and then worry about shelter.

never done an overnight session but when i get to the banks i always get the rods sorted first then sort the swim out for the day

coffee and fag watch the water for half an hour try to get in tune with the swim,then a quick lead around

Find the fish, get the gear to the swim, rods out, house built, simples

grab a bucket and my sarneys/maccy d's or what ever and had off for a look. i think its even more crucial to try and get on them as you have far less time available to move if you get it wrong. once im happy then its rods out next.

of course if your stringing a few nights together its advisable to keep a little bait going in on a few spots in case there is nothing else to go on. in that case if i cant find them i always have a second option.
