Does PVA deteriorate after time? was created by bencarp16
Been thinking about this after time. Have bulk brought some PVA from one of the links in the cheap PVA topic on here, its gonna last me a while so will it deteriorate after a while or will it be like new forever?

Never thought about this
but as i do.....
Would have thought it would be alright for a while as long as doesnt get damp. Suggestion would be to only take what you think you will need for the session. Even if its not raining the air could be damp especially at this time of year.

I had some solid pva bags that had been left stored in a bucket for a few months and they went slightly rubbery if that makes any sense. They still melted in the water though albeit tested next to a fresh one out of a new packet which melted quicker.
still on the pva theme, I use the cheapest I can find in the shops does anyone have a favourite brand that they use even if it is more expensive than others in the shop and why?

had some for well over a year, and still good.... but i do keep my pva in a reseal bag, and only take out what i need as i need it.
the other thing i do, is to make up a large batch of mesh/bag the night before then keep them in a good bucket, ready for the trip.
been looking into pva prices, and i'll be looking for a cheaper supply this year, for sure...

Thanks for the replys, seems to be that as long as stored in a cool, dry place it should last.
3rd one with a thumbs up for carp-craze. Got 50 metres of PVA stick and its going to last me ages which is why i asked the question.
Thanks again.
