Try and resist the Ebay route if you can. Get yourself down to your nearest tackle shop and tell them what your looking for and also tell them its got to include end tackle and leads etc. Also go with another Carp angler and talk it over with the shop owner. The shop owner will be silly to try and sell you something you dont need if there is someone else with you.

Dam good post pal.
Dont go the Argos route either mate what ever you do your better of saving some more money and spend it on something decent that will last a while. Think £100 is pushing it but you should be able to get a decent deal for £200.
Have a look through a few tackle websites as well to have an idea on what price what is and get a describtion of the product. Dont go steaming in and get the first thing that gets offered. <!-- s:!: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_exclaim.gif" alt="

Might be an idea just to buy 1 rod and reel to start with. Practise using 1 rod and set-up for the first few times you go fishing and once comfortable with that move onto using 2 rods. Only thing with doing this is that its cheaper to buy the pair of rods and reels rather than buy one set-up and another one a month or so later.

Have a look through the january sales topic mate. Theres plenty of links to sites on there with loads of deals on rods and reels. But get the best that you can afford as it will be better in the long run.
If at a tackle shop trying to get a deal with some end tackle thrown in is a good idea. <!-- s:idea: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_idea.gif" alt="

Buy 1 decent rod and reel then when you get used to fishing with one buy another pair of rod and reels and you can progress to 2 rods and then to 3 rods if you want.
Outcasts are awesome rod and 1 of them in a 2 1/2lb test curve should start you fine pal.
