Spooling reels

what way does the line have to come off the new spool to prevent line twist? I'm thinking the line needs to come off the right hand side?

I do it so they line comes off the top of the spool. Get someone else to put a pencil through the hole in the spool and then hold the spool tightly in place so as you wind it onto the spool it goes on tightly with the line coming off the top of the spool.

I put my new spool in a bucket of warm water for a few minutes first, then wind it onto my reels under a slight bit of tension. The warm water relaxes the mono and stops any memory retention (big curls) on the line.

Thats the way to do it never had a problem doing it that way.....

i use the warm water way also if it does line twist just wack a gardner twister on and chuck it for all your life up the lake when winding in it apines in the water and takes the twists out
