Non-branded hooks?

With money being tight and hooks costing a fair wod of wonga these days i have been looking at bulk buying non-branded hooks. Do you think this is the route for me to take or should i just pay the extra money for branded hooks?
All opinions welcome please so i can weigh up my options

I would stick to the branded hooks their stronger and sharper and if you have a new pb ready to the net and the hook straightens because it was a cheap hook i would be gutted. Alot more fish would be landed using a decent hook than a cheap one in my opinion.
