I used to fish the riddings a year or so ago. The whole venue gets hammered at the weekend by the match anglers and the speci lake is no different, I used to go round to the far side by the fence and fish in the nearside margin, resist the urge to cast to the island. It gets hammered there must be a whole new plateau of cell boilies out there festering away by now lol.
The main lake is ok for a bite or two when the matches have finished, I used to walk around and look for the muddy clouds where the carp were munching on the bait that the matchers had chucked in the edge. In summer you can see the oil slicks coming off the cat food when they fed.
There is another lake (cant remember name) at the other end of the car park that is fished less and is in my opinion a better lake to fish.
I have a young friend lives in Polesworth which is just up the road, and we are overdue a trip to the riddings, when are you going again Nashy?
