Got Monday and Friday off next week so will be heading upto Mitre on 1 of those days.

Fished a short day session today on Mitre Pool at Bishops Bowls. Fishing 8-5 i had 3 runs all off the same rod on a chod rig with a floro Mulberry Florentine 15mm pop-up. Landed the first at about 1.30 but lost 2 more in the snags in the next couple of hours.
The one i caught was this messy mirror at 7lb 11oz and now my 3rd different carp under 10lb from the lake, better than a blank though.

looks like you've got it sussed though Gav mate, just need to sit on tighter lines now! They pulling hard on there?

I sit next to my rods and fish tight to snags, on my rod in less than 2 seconds and they are already in the snag. They dont seem to pull but they use their weight under your rod tip in the deep water and plod.

Just Done 48hrs at lemington lakes landed 4 carp and lost 4, 12lb,13.5lb, 14lb and a 20lb 2oz common my new pb!

Done the day in the baking heat on the Mitre Pool at Bishops Bowls. Got there at 7am had a walk round for half hour and only place i saw carp on a free peg was 13 again.
Carp were coming right in under the rod tips so dropped a handful of boilies and half a boilie on the hair about a metre out and 2 minutes later had a screaming run and after a short battle landed this little beauty.

As it got hotter carp cruised the surface so got a zig set just under the surface with a pink floro mulberry florentine pop-up, around 5.30 it shot off and i landed this little beaut at 11lb

Gave it another couple of hours then gave up as the carp seem to be getting ready to spawn. Cruising around in large group and the odd bit of knocking along the reeds.
Still cant seem to get into these bigger Carp but dont mind catching them that size when they look like that. <!-- s8-) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cool.gif" alt="" title="Cool" /><!-- s8-) -->
