2012 Catch Results

Still catching them Gav, keep it up.

just back from 24 hours on barby mill pools for my first attempt at catching a catfish. Unfortunately didn't manage to catch any but didn't realise untill the baliff told me that theres only 7 in there of note... So perhaps not the best water to target my first one of a decent size. Needless to say I was pestered by carp ALL night on half tins of luncheon meat on a hair to a size 1 hook and 4x 22m halibut pellets on a size 1 hook... Only hooked and landed one carp for about 4lb. But they messed with the rigs all night.


On the plus side it tipped it down and I got to spend the night under my new brolly which was sound.

Nice mate and looks good for day trips to stay out the wind in the winter.

Fished 8 til 7 today at Bishops Bowls Mitre Pool in peg 15. After resting my swim after baiting up until 10am i had 2 bites in the first hour resulting in a hook pull and this 10lb 13oz Mirror.

Just before 5pm got another run all on the same rod, resulting in this very oranged bellied Mirror of 12lb 14oz.

yes mate, was sure that when that went it could of only been something with a massive mouth (ideally a catfish) ... But the carp must have pecked away at the luncheon meat untill it was mostly gone i guess..

haha nah, i loves me a bit of southpark.

Fished Ryton country park pool today after I went and got a leam book on saturday. Was after the tench but they didn't play ball. Had one tench on the method feeder about 4lb and then later in the day it ripped off and after 25 minutes fight on 2lb test curve rod and 8lb line i had myself a absolute pristine common carp of about 15lb. Was a really good fight! Earlier in the day I was float fishing with my centerpin for a giggle and managed to hit a shoal of perch and landed about 4-5 over 1lb and a rudd that must of been 1lb or more. It's a lovely lake to spend a day at I will admit! Going back tomorrow with tench in mind again. Maybe get some snaps up!

Going pastie bashing myself tomorrow either at Stockton, Clattercote or Drayton Resse so may get a few half decent fish for a photo or 2.
