2012 Catch Results

fished 36 hours on mitre pool monday and tuesday peg 15, only landed 1 carp a lovely dark common at 15lbs from the reeds to the right of the swim, lost 5 fish from same spot during the night when it hammered it down 2 of which felt like they were bigguns , also caught 2 bream . definately going to go here alot more.

Beeny were the fish lost next to reeds on the right hand side of the swim? If so last time i fished that peg i lost a few over night from breaking the line over a snag.
Day off tomorrow so think im gonna have to do my first day session on there in nearly 2 months.

no pics im afraid as i was by myself and havnt yet got a decent camera with selftake. yeh they were by the reeds mate no cut lines thou just hook pulls, think this is down to the barbless hooks and basic hair rigs im using as ive lost alot of biggish fish this year on different venues?? <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_confused.gif" alt="" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? -->

i think that snag u mentioned might of been half a tree as there was one to the left of the swim covered in hundreds of mussell shells that someone has pulled out.

Thats the tree the baliff shawn pulled out that was from next to the first set of bushes on the cliff. Nice little shallow spot to fish on there as well mate.
Only use basic rigs myself mate just with a bit of putty near the eye of the hook to make it hard for the Carp to drop the rig. They are crafty ones in there though mate as they have seen every trick in the book so i like to keep it simple.

Anther stunner there Saddler.
Fished Bishops Bowls Mitre Pool today. Got there for 7am and had a walk round the lake. There was no sign of any Carp so decided to fish peg 13 and headed back to the car to get my kit. Saw Shawn so went and paid and had a quick chat where he advised pegs 2 or 13. Fished 13 until around 12 with no sign of Carp so wound in and went looking for them as i had the lake to myself. Saw Carp in the bay next to peg 6 so headed back to get my kit and started fishing there. After a few hours of nothing got the chum mixer out and started to get a few feeding on them. After losing 1 common to a snag then a 2nd to a hook pull i was lucky enough to keep the Carp feeding and not spook them. Around 4pm this stunner hammered my fake mixer. All 17lb 13oz. Needless to say i was well happy but this wasnt the biggest out of the group feeding. There were a couple of bigger ones with her.

Spooked the rest of the Carp after this so called it a day.

Well done mate, I had mine at about the same time 430ish then no bites till after midnight
