cheers fella, just done 5 hours on the canal on my spot but left as it got dark and started to rain again. So effing cold this evening sat by the cut. Sadly no fish to report not even a snotty bream although i could see fizzing bubbles coming up over my rig so i think the bream were present on the loose feed!

Landed 12 Carp off the top on the dam wall yesterday evening. All on the Korda Concepter surface float and chum mixer. ;) Love the summer, what a beautiful day it was.

Nice photos and top angling. 1 every half hour is a good ratio and bigger stamp Carp for the lake.

Getting a call from work on Monday night to work 10 til 1 yesterday cancelled my plans for a day session on Bishops Bowls. With the scorching weather decided that floater fishing in the late afternoon/evening was the way to go. Couldnt decide where to go until i finished work and decided that havent fished Dog Lane in Napton for a while so thought would give it a go for a change of scenery.
Got to the lake by half 2 and had a good walk round. Carp were all over the lake cruising the surface layers in the baking humid heat.
I tucked into the a corner of the lake where i was away from the other anglers and started firing the mixers out. After an hour of feeding them i got my 1st cast in around 4pm. I had 2 Carp and in between missed numourous bites. 9lb Ghosite to start, havent caught 1 of these for years.

2nd was the biggest of the day at 14lb 2oz

After this the Carp backed off and became incredibly cagey. In the last 3 hours before the gates closed i managed to miss a handful of bites land 2 Carp around the 5lb mark and this.

At only 10lb was the prettiest of the day and will be a stunner when its twice the size.
Judging by the large amount of Carp under 10lb that i saw i dont think i will be visiting here again and that was the reason i stopped fishing here a few years ago. Beautiful lake, had a nice time but not my cup of tea. ;)

23 hour session at Bishops Bowls on Mitre Pool. 7.30 last night until about 6.30 tonight.
Had nothing all night even though the Carp were all over my spots all night. It wasnt until 5.30am that i had a run and as i hit it i struck into nothing.
There were still Carp in the swim when I pulled the rods out for an hour about 9amand went for a coffee at the shop leaving a few dog biscuits in the water. When i returned there Carp were still slurping them. By the time i left i had 3 Commons and a Mirror and 2 hook pulls. I missed at least 5 takes as well.
This was the first, biggest and most beautiful at 14lb 12oz

2nd was this 12lb 4oz

3rd was this 12lb 8oz

4th was my only mirror at 12lb, my reel broke during the fight with this which made it very difficult to get in.

Struggled using my usual tactics and baits that catch me a few here but glad i had the chum mixers with me
