2013 Catch Results

Done 17 hours in the pouring rain at Bishops Bowls Mitre Pool on peg 4. After an hour of walking round and seeing no sign of Carp i decided to fish it as i can park my car behind the swim and keep my kit as dry as possible. There was an angler packing up on peg 15 so had the lake to myself for the night.
Having not fished the peg before i had a quick feel around with a lead and decided on where i was putting a bait.
After a couple of hours about 7.45pm i had a screaming run and after a few minutes i had a 13lb 13oz Common in the net.
At about 11pm i was woken by a screaming run again on the right hand rod. This time after a 10 minute battle in howling wind and monsoon like conditions i had a 15lb 1oz Mirror in the landing net.
2.30am the right hand rod screamed off again. This time it was a 5lb Bream. Cant avoid them this year even when not on the canal.
8.30am the right hand rod went off again and a 14lb 10oz pretty mirror was in the bottom of my landing net.
All this was during torrential rain all night so i packed up and left at 10 satisfied with my catch.
Only got a photo of the 1st Carp as the rain was making selftakes very difficult.
Glad to have caught my first Carp for nearly 2 months.

saved the blank on ryton today with a tench about 4lb just as I was packing up, can't believe how busy it is up there now this year. Everytime i go to have a look theres at least 8-10 people

Nice weather for it today to. Complete contrast to tuesday night and go back to work today to this weather typical lol <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->

Gonna head up stockton res for a few runs tomorrow i think. Just cooked up a good few kilos of hemp to bait up the canals with aswell as I spotted a carp or two there the other week. So here goes, im gonna go try and rival Gav for the bream captures!

Just done 5 1/2 hours on the canal over my baited spot. 2 runs, 1 aborted take which i think was a Bream and 1 2 1/2lb Bream saved my blank lol. Theres always next time.

Fair play on putting the hours in tho gav , you gotta be in it to win it mate. I'm going to do my first session after the carp on my canal tomorrow or Friday. I'm over at Ryton country park atm chasing the tench had 2 and one carp all about 4-5lb.

Had a nice day, must of had 12 or more tench, lost a lot aswell kept bumping them off <!-- s:o --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_surprised.gif" alt="" title="Surprised" /><!-- s:o --> and the one bonus carp which was only a little'un. Good day all round though and just been to my canal spot to put another couple of kilo of hemp , pellet and boilies in so will fish that in a day or two depending on the weather!
