2013 Catch Results

New year so have started a new topic.

Happy new year to all the WBM lads / ladies!

Was first to post a catch report about this timelast year and am doing it again this year.
Got to Stockton Resse about 7am and had my rods out by 7.30am. It was mild but wind was very cold. By 9am i had a run on both rods resulting in a hook pull and this little 6lb pasty.

Both runs were from casting to showing fish at around 50-60 yards. After this a few other anglers turned up and by 10.30 with no-one catching i decided to pack up and grab my river gear. Heading down to the river in Southam across the fields i set-up where i know there are Roach and Chub holding up and with the water coloured but coming down from the recent bad floods i had 8 Roach including a 12oz and this at 15oz. Absolute beautiful wild fish caught on bread using liquidised bread as loosefeed.

This part of the river you can fish is a 15 minute walk along a footpath outside of Southam and was the first place i fished when i was a kid so to catch something like this was brilliant.

Lol all i see missing from that photo is some trebbles in that roach!

Started the day well. 30 seconds after puttin on the bobbin had a run off a 14lb Common. While nettin it had a run on my first rod but lost a small one.

Have had 4 runs 3 Carp now at 14, 8 and a little under 11 other 2 anglers are both blanking at the moment so not doing bad. Will post a catch report and photos later but for live updates on my day follow WBMCarpFishing on Twitter

Got down Stockton Resse for 7.30am and was fishing by 7.45. Within 30 seconds of putting the bobbin on my 2nd rod it had a run whcih resulted in this strange shaped 14lb Common. My first of the year.

As i netted it my 1st rod had a run but after a few minutes the hook pulled.
Around 9am i had another run and landed an 8lb mirror.
An hour later i landed this mirror at just under 11lb.

All taken on Dynamite Baits Mulberry Florentine pop-ups on a chod rig.
All fish landed had been on the same rod so by now had both rods around the same area. 20 minutes later another 8lb mirror was in my landing net. As the cluods started to come over and it started to cool off a little i thought that would be it but is wasnt.
Over the next half hour i had 2 more fish a dumby 6lb common and a tiny 4lb mirror. Didnt get a touch after this and the westerly wind had picked up alot and dark clouds filled the sky so called it a day. Goo job i did as within the hour it had started snowing!!
By far the best days winter Carping i have ever had. 1 more day up there next week then my canal campaign starts.
