Does any tactic work here because I'm really enjoying using light gear at the minute been targeting tench on my syndicate with a 9 ft quiver and it's so much fun

Its that mental in the summer when the waters low that i really do believe you could chuck a hook out and still get a run. Be prepared to use loads of bait and have a bad back at the end of the session because they fight like trains!!!
Average size is around 15lb i would say and i have never caught or seen a common come out of there.

Was fishing well yesterday with carp coming out all over the lake, although most caught at distance. Water level is nearly back to being full and dam wall is open again.

Carp seem to be still at distance on Drayton. Quick word with the baliff while having a walk along the dam yesterday tells me that pegs 87-95 have been doing well and off the dam wall towards the sailing club end. Floro pop-ups and zig rigs did well at the weekend.

Fished here for the first time on sunday, wasnt to impressed to be honest. Not bad for a wee day out. £12 for 2 rods I thought were quite steep, people crossing lines and nothing to fish to. Constant disruption from people walking about. Will stick too my quiet out the way venues where I'm not bothered by inconsiderate fishers. Good to get fishing for first time this season though. Know what I need in terms of setup

No, baited my swim up. Someone started casting in to it. Moved half way through the day, lost interest. I'll go back up in summer

Yeah mate. The dam wall is usually full by 6am in mid-summer and you will struggle to get a peg and a bit of room to fish but theres that many carp in there that once you get them feeding it turns into complete madness!!

Had a look on way to work this morning. Car park and dam wall was packed by 8am! Summers not even started yet. I think we going to be battling for a swim even more this year! <!-- s:!: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_exclaim.gif" alt="
