hows it fishing at the minute guys? night this sat i think

When can I head up and start pike fishing greenhills this year Shaun? I'm determined to catch one out of there this season

Just back from popping up there to get a few kgs of pigeon conditioner in on peg 13 ready for a 7am start tomorrow for a day session and gutted theres someone doing the night on there. Peg 1 my other choice is too crowded for my liking with 2 blokes fishing pegs 2 and 3 for the night and smashing the marker float about. Gutted.
On a positive note though the car park is looking good, all smoothed off and level with gravel. Liking the work you have been doing up there Shawn keep up the good work.
Finish at 4pm on Sunday and trying to get Monday off so can get a night in there as could do with a few more sessions after the carp before it gets too cold and i havent fished it now for about 2 months. <!-- s:o --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_surprised.gif" alt="" title="Surprised" /><!-- s:o -->

had two carp today from peg 5 fishing around 90yards into 18ft ...silt area

went bk today ....fish showing all day most around the middle towards the cliffs.couldnt get a run mind tryed zigs as maybe they headed up in the water but nout ,,plenty showing
any of you guys had much luck around margins ??

Yes mate, most the carp i have had out of there have been from the margins, especially in the summer months. Set-up quietly and sit well back from the waters edge. The carp cruise the margins on all pegs looking for scraps that have fell out the back of peoples spods. Evenings and nights are best but they are more than catchable during the day from there. Just put a couple of handfuls of bait out just where you cant see the bottom in the margins and either fish a single bait or with a small stick then sit back and wait.

Done 24hours on the mitre starting saturday at 11am checked what pegs were available 15, 1, 7, 6 and 5 were taken so we set up on pegs 2 and 3 with a strong wind blowing towards the cliff. cast out my rods in the margins baited little n often but nothing, re cast my left rod just before dark bout 20ft out towards middle baited the margin again not as much as a bleep so i went to bed.
woke up in the morning about 7, had a chat with everyone on our side few beeps but no runs wind had moved slightly blowing towards us brought my rods in recast one to the margin and set up a zig on the other fishin about 6 ft deep baited up little and often again but didnt produce anything so we packed up and left at bout 11.
was real gutted not to catch but i think i could have done with more time and knowledge however the venue is brilliant looking forward to getting back there and hopefully getting a few on the bank. obviously a good venue as when we walked back to the car the car park had a good few cars in so an early start to get the pick of pegs is the key i think.

Heading up for the day session tomorrow but cant decide between Pike or Carp. Havent been up for 6 months so just good to get back on the banks of Mitre and a fish or 2 would make it awesome.......
